How Do I Control My Garage Door Opener in the SmartRent Mobile App?

In the SmartRent Mobile App, you have the ability to remotely open, close, and monitor your garage door.

 

Controlling Your Garage Door:

To open/close your Garage Door in the SmartRent Mobile App, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on your Garage Door Controller on the home screen under My Devices
  2. To open your garage door, tap Open
  3. To close your garage door, tap Close

To account for the time it takes a garage door to fully open and close, the Garage Door Controller cannot receive multiple commands within 60 seconds of each other. 

 

If your Garage Door Controller shows an Unknown state in the SmartRent Mobile App, reach out to our support team, for troubleshooting assistance. Our contact information is listed below.

 

Activity and Settings:

To view your Garage Door Controller Activity or update Settings in your SmartRent App, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on your Garage Door Controller on the home screen under My Devices
  2. Tap ⋮ 
  3. To view your garage door’s Activity, tap Activity 
    • This will open your Activity feed so you can see when your garage door has been opened or closed
  4. To view or update your Garage Door Controller’s Settings, tap Settings
    • This will open your garage door’s Settings and allow you to change the name of your garage door

Compatible Garage Doors:

The Linear/GoControl Garage Door Controller is compatible with most electric garage door systems manufactured after 1993. If your community does not currently support garage door controls, reach out to your community manager or our support team to see if garage door controllers are an option for you.
