How Do I Connect My Hub to the Internet?
During the initial installation of your smart home system, installers will set up and configure your hub via a cellular signal. This cell service internet connection allows us to perform a less invasive installation while still ensuring everything works as intended. While you can continue using the cellular signal, we strongly encourage you to re-connect your hub to the internet via WiFi or an ethernet cable. WiFi or ethernet will provide a stronger connection to the internet resulting in a faster and more reliable smart home experience.
WiFi:
Follow the steps below to set up your hub with a WiFi connection:
- In the SmartRent Mobile App, tap More in the bottom bar menu
- Tap Settings
- Tap Network Settings

Tap WiFi
- Choose desired WiFi network
- Input WiFi network credentials
- If the connect fails, you will be presented with a Retry button
Ethernet:
Follow the steps below to set up your hub with an Ethernet connection:
- In the SmartRent Mobile App, tap More in the bottom bar menu
- Tap Settings
- Tap Network Settings
